The End of an Era – Completing My Bachelor of Dermal Sciences

Wow, what a journey it’s been! After three intense, challenging, and incredibly rewarding years, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve officially completed my Bachelor of Dermal Sciences at Victoria University. Reflecting on my time here, it’s hard to believe it’s over – the late nights, clinical practices, and study marathons all contributed to a memorable experience that feels surreal now that it’s done.

These last few months were some of the busiest of my degree. I pushed myself to finish strong, diving into challenging units that ultimately felt so rewarding. It’s been a whirlwind, but the experience has equipped me with skills beyond just the theory and techniques of dermal science. I now feel confident in my flow as a dermal clinician, ready to continue in this field with a solid foundation.

Victoria University has been instrumental in helping me develop these lifelong skills. From the resources and equipment to the invaluable guidance from lecturers and supervisors, I’ve gained a well-rounded understanding of the dermal world. More than that, I’ve formed connections with people who have become friends and future colleagues across Australia. These friendships have been a special part of the journey, providing support, motivation, and a network I know will be there as we all step into our careers.

A special thank you also goes to my team at The CAPS Clinic. Their support throughout my studies has been invaluable, allowing me to apply what I’ve learned in real-world scenarios and enhancing my clinical skills.

Of course, it wasn’t without its challenges. Balancing work, studies, and personal life sometimes felt impossible, and there were moments of stress when I questioned if I could keep up. But I couldn’t have done it without the encouragement from my friends and family. They kept me grounded and motivated, cheering me on even during the most challenging days, and I’m so grateful for their support.

As I close this chapter, I feel ready and excited to continue my journey in skin health and dermal sciences. Thank you to everyone who supported me along the way. Here’s to the future and all that’s to come in this incredible field!
