Dr Taylor works with Dr Arne Schimmelfeder, a fully qualified Anaesthetist. Dr Schimmelfeder is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetist. The anaesthetist is an integral part of the surgical service being provided by Dr Taylor and Dr Schimmelfeder shares his commitment to provide professional and supportive care to the patient. 3. Overnight stay in Sole’vita
Sole’vita Surgery was designed specifically for Dr Taylor’s patients. It offers a relaxed environment which is both State and Federal, licensed and accredited. Our nurses are fully qualified and provide personal and empathetic care and with one of the highest nurse to patient ratio, we are confident your will be well cared for. Dr Taylor and Dr Schimmelfeder prefer to keep their patients overnight to ensure pain relief and nausea are managed appropriately. This time allows the patients to fully recover from the anaesthetic and feel rested and strong before being discharged to the care of their family or friends.
4. Use of drains Dr Taylor uses drains postoperatively. The use of the drains provides a number of benefits to the patient. Following surgery, fluid builds up around the implant, drains remove this fluid and therefore the swelling and stretching is reduced, as is the pain associated with this. The fluid can hinder the attachment of the implant down to the chest wall increasing the risk of rotation and finally the drains provide Dr Taylor with a clear picture of what is happening inside – if there is a problem it can be seen in the drain and acted on immediately rather than when you are at home and not sure what to do. 5. All pre and post operative care including a post operative bra included for up to 6 months post surgery
At CAPS we are committed to your ‘whole’ journey. We believe a prepared patient can make the time leading up to surgery less stressful and more relaxed. We also believe a fully informed patient will be well prepared for the recovery so time is taken to ensure appropriate planning is in place for your return to home. We provide our patients with the information, education and the consumables they will need to plan and recover from their surgery. This is all included in the cost of the surgery – so no surprises!
