Abdominoplasty, also called a “tummy tuck”, is performed on women and men to remove excess skin which can result from a dramatic loss in weight or where an ‘abdominal apron’ has developed. Abdominoplasty can also remove stretched and scarred skin following pregnancy. An abdominoplasty can be so much more than aesthetically pleasing, performed correctly it can also restore core strength and function to the body. Dr Taylor is a leader in Functional Abdominoplasty Surgery.
Massive weight loss can often lead to significant skin redundancy. Once the weight is lost, the skin rarely retracts and the excess skin is left behind. Body lift surgery is designed to improve the body’s appearance by modifying its size or shape, such as to contour the waist, abdomen, thighs, buttocks, upper torso and upper arms. This allows the patients to finally enjoy their new, lighter self.
Liposuction is a surgical procedure that assists in removing fat accumulations from specific area of the body for a tightened, natural looking finish. It can be used to improve the shape of legs, buttocks and hips, waist and abdomen, breasts, chest and back, overdeveloped male breasts (gynaecomastia), the back of the upper arms, and the neck and chin.
Breast Augmentation (augmentation mammoplasty) is a surgical procedure which should be tailored to the individual. Type, size and placement of implants, as well as the method of insertion should be determined following a discussion of lifestyle, medical history and expectations. Dr Taylor has performed thousands of these procedures over the years and has seen and repaired many more.
Breast Reduction is a procedure to reduce or reshape the breast involves the removal of excessive tissue and elevation of the nipples, resulting in a pleasing, well-proportioned contour. In some women a breast lift, or mastopexy, may be all that is required. There are several different techniques currently practiced for reduction mammaplasty; all aim to locate these scars in as inconspicuous areas as possible
There may come a time in a women’s life when she no longer wants breast implants. The safe removal and reconstruction of the natural breast tissue is therefore a very important consideration.
Rhinoplasty or corrective nasal surgery is the medical term for nose surgery. A rhinoplasty can correct post-traumatic nasal deformity, congenital nasal deformity or features of the nose that are aesthetically displeasing such as large bulbous tips or a dorsal hump. The procedure can also aid breathing difficulties.
Facelifts are performed on both women and men to reverse the structural changes of ageing that give rise to deep wrinkles and ‘gaunting’. Dr Taylor favours a technique which addresses the problems of cheek sagging, ‘jowling’, and lower eyelid lengthening, finding it is the most effective way to produce a great long term, balanced result.
Blepharoplasty is the medical term to describe eye surgery / surgery around the eye region. Upper and lower blepharoplasties are performed on both men and women to remove excess skin and fat from around the eyes. Upper blepharoplasties are often performed when upper eyelid skin obstructs vision. Blepharoplasty removes the heaviness of the eyes, simple, quick and relatively minor it is a very popular surgery.
As we age the upper eyelids appear to come down and cause problems with visual obstruction. This sagging occurs mostly laterally leading to deepening crows feet lines. The problem is ageing across the forehead and descent of the eyebrows onto the upper eyelid. Brow lift Surgery can lift the heaviness from the face, opening the eyes giving you a more positive and optimistic appearance.
