As a nurse at The CAPS Clinic, you will be part of a small, multiskilled group of professionals that work in a happy and collaborative team.

Part time and Full time roles exist for enthusiastic nurses interested in plastic surgery, aesthetic treatments and the treatment of skin lesions, including cancer.

Work with Canberra’s Leading Plastic Surgeon – Dr Alastair Taylor

Dr Taylor is a passionate and committed surgeon working tirelessly to ensure his patients achieve their surgical goals. His perfectionist attitude and willingness to take his time are qualities that have led him to become one of the most sought-after surgeons in his field.

Patient Care

As a CAPS Clinic Nurse, you will participate in every step of the patient journey, from:

  • Considering (Patient Education)
  • Preparing (Pre-Surgery Screening and Management)
  • Undertaking (Scrub, Sout, Anaesthetic and Recovery)
  • Recovering (Suture Removal, Wound Management)

Throughout their entire journey, our nurses are there by our patients’ sides.

CAPS Clinic offers all their nurses the opportunity to learn and grow their skills in a unique setting.

With opportunities to work in the hospital, clinical skin cancer and aesthetic roles in the business, the possibilities are exciting and endless.

Recovery

Our private hospital recovery rooms transform into single ensuite rooms for each patient. Our recovery nurses support patients in these rooms for up to 72 hours post-operatively.

Working closely with patients and their careers, our nurses provide information and education about their post-op care.

Theater Nursing Scout, Scrub and Anaesthetics

As part of the theater team, you will be able to participate in every nursing role, from scrubbing and scouting anaesthetic surgeries performed under General Anaesthetic, to the more patient-engaging Local Anaesthetic lists with Dr Taylor and the Skin Cancer Doctors.

Working opportunities are Monday to Friday, with a rotating schedule to support the full recovery of our patients.

Part-time and Full-time roles are available for enthusiastic nurses interested in Plastic Surgery, Aesthetic treatments and treatments of skin lesions, including Cancer.

Other Nursing Roles

Whilst our theatre roles are clearly defined, as a nurse at CAPS you help to add to the 5 star experience for our patients and roles exist along the continuum of the patient journey that can add to the diversity of the role that you have within the hospital setting, these additional roles include:

  • pre surgery nurse consultations
  • removal of sutures
  • wound reviews and dressings
  • Opportunity to consolidate medical/surgical skills in the ward setting
