Surgery

Sole Vita Private Hospital provides qualified and experienced nurses and medical professionals, led by Specialist Plastic Surgeon and Director of Surgery at Sole Vita, Dr. Alastair Taylor (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery | Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons | MED1401767).

Dr Alastair Taylor is a highly qualified Specialist Plastic Surgeon with over 25 years experience in plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery, including breast, body, and facial rejuvenation surgery.

Sole Vita features state-of-the-art surgical theatres, equipment and sterilization services, ensuring your surgery will take place in a professional environment that prioritizes your safety before, during and after surgery.

Service

Sole’ Vita Private Hospital has been designed with a focus on personal care, privacy and professionalism, and it is our mission to ensure patients feel relaxed and comfortable before, during and after surgery.
The unique and innovative design of our facility allows us to monitor your recovery whilst ensuring your privacy. Our flexible glass panelling system allows us to transform the patient recovery area into your own fully-enclosed private room, complete with a private ensuite for your personal rest and recovery. If you’re having trouble sleeping, our large and inviting patient lounge lets you read books, watch a wide selection of movies or rest in our recliners.

Our team of highly-qualified nurses are committed to providing the highest level of medical care available to you, and with only 5 patients staying at once, our patient-to-nursing care ratio is remarkably high.

Support

At Sole’ Vita Private Hospital, we are committed to supporting you throughout your whole journey, providing all pre and post-operative care included for 6 months post-surgery. We make an effort to explain the risks following procedures, and our nursing staff are always available to help you with any complications or early warning signs post-surgery.

If you would like to learn more about how the staff at Sole’ Vita can help support you throughout your surgical journey, don’t hesitate to contact us at (02) 6281 0377.

Our Accreditation

Sole’vita Surgery is very proud of its quality and safety record as a private hospital in Canberra established through years of commitment to patient service and care. Sole’vita is accredited by Certification Partners Global (Aust Pty Ltd.) against the new National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHS).

Sole’vita surgery aims to:

  • Provide patients with the highest level of care
  • Treat patients and their carers with respect and dignity
  • Respect the patient’s right to confidential and professional care
  • Provide a safe and efficient workplace for both patients and staff

Sole’vita is a specialist private hospital providing service to the CAPS Clinic and 360UV Skin Cancer Clinic. The average stay for patients is 1-2 nights.

Although hospitals are required to collate  data on patient falls, pressure injuries and unplanned re-admissions to hospital and theatre, these occasions are too rare to benchmark against other facilities.

Your Privacy

Sole’ vita is highly committed to ensuring your privacy, rights and responsibilities. At all times, patients have the right to a high standard of quality care, to be treated with respect, dignity and without discrimination.

Our facility is committed to the provision of high ethical and moral standards and complies with all applicable laws and regulations.

All patients must at all times provide full disclosure of their health, be courteous, respectful and considerate of staff and other patients and their privacy.

All information is respected and treated as confidential and may be disclosed to those health care professionals involved in your treatment.

Hand Hygiene

Hand Hygiene is the most important method of preventing infections in hospitals. Sole’vita’s team are audited annually against the government-based Hand Hygiene Australia Standards. This includes:

  • Enforcing the ‘Five moments of Hand Hygiene’ for all staff
  • Auditing staff on how often they wash their hands
  • Placement of Hand Sanitizing units throughout the hospital for use by staff, patients and visitors

In 2023, Sole’vita Surgery rated 90.7% against the National Average of 86.7%.

Infection Rates

Sole’vita Surgery’s team know the importance of remaining ‘bug free’. Our team are well-trained and continually monitored to ensure only the highest standard in infection control and aseptic techniques are maintained. Since opening in 2011, we have had no recorded incidents of hospital-transmissible infections, therefore it is difficult to benchmark against other facilities.

Hospitals are all about the clinical experience which is vital and well-addressed here, but we also wanted to create an experience where patients feel at home.
