Make the most of… dermal fillers!
Dermal fillers are made up of a naturally occurring gel called hyaluronic acid. This is the injectable used to give back volume and structure to facial features. A little known fact… the injectable product is ‘hydrophilic’ which means it loves water. So the more hydration we can pump into the skin topically, the better the injectable will perform.
The best way to enhance hydration at a topical level is with hyaluronic acid. This gentle acid can be used to topically to fill the gaps and smooth that texture. So whilst we inject hyaluronic acid dermally to give structure and replace lost scaffolding, optimally we should be applying it topically as well to really diminish those pesky fine expression lines.
Smoothing out the texture of your skin is important too. The less little bumps and ridges the better your skin is going to look – the most effective way to achieve this at home is by using gentle Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) and enzymes. Dissolving the waterproof bonds that hold your dead skin cells in place is a sure fire way to achieve smoothing.
