When considering plastic surgery it is important to know the difference between a plastic and cosmetic surgeon. Plastic surgeons are Fellows of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons. They will have undergone at least eight years of rigorous postgraduate training and examination, and they are required to regularly update their knowledge.
Take care, because at present anyone can call themselves a 'cosmetic surgeon', with or without specialist training, and some 'cosmetic surgeons' have no formal surgical qualifications whatsoever.
